The success of the Beta Psi chapter is due to a long history of commitment to the values and ideals of Alpha Delta Pi, but in the past 13 years, much of it can be attributed to the leadership of our Chapter Adviser, Carrie Hancock. Carrie initiated at Beta Omega chapter at Auburn University, and graduated from --- chapter at Western Kentucky University. When she moved to Lexington, she became involved with Beta Psi, and assumed the position of Chapter Adviser. After 13 years, Carrie stepped down from this position, but we did not let her leave without a flourish of thanks and praise from the women she has so positively influenced during her time here.
A surprise formal reception was held in her honor on April 20th at the sorority house. The event was attended by numerous chapter members as well as alumnae, i ncluding several past presidents and executive committee members. Province Director Rita Marshall, made a special appearance to honor Carrie’s contributions to the chapter. Carrie was presented with a scrapbook of letters and pictures from chapter members. The “Carrie Hancock Scholarship Fund” was also established in her honor, as a reflection of her personal commitment to help sisters meet their financial obligations.
As Chapter Adviser, Carrie went beyond fulfilling her duties, and took a personal interest in the sisters of Beta Psi, and more than one president has accidentally called her “mom” a few times! We are more than grateful to her for her dedication, her positive attitude, and her leadership. Thank you, Carrie!
